Sarah Thomas, Founder | Director

Meet Sarah—a dedicated mother to twin boys, Lewis and Cohan, and the proud owner of Lola, their lively therapy dog. Sarah’s journey in the food industry spans over 25 years, but her most important role has been as a medical mum to her son Lewis, who is tube-fed.

Sarah’s career has taken her from iconic venues like Hilton Hotels and Lords Cricket Ground to prestigious events at Buckingham Palace and the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art. Her extensive experience in food manufacturing, production, and menu planning has given her a deep understanding of what it takes to create high-quality, nourishing meals.

But it was Lewis’s stroke at age three that shifted Sarah’s focus from the high-paced world of international events to something even more personal and fulfilling—ensuring that her family, and others like them, have access to nutritious, whole foods. As a determined tubie mum, Sarah combines her professional expertise with her passion for nutrition to create Wholesome Blends, offering real food options that meet the unique needs of those on a tube-feeding journey.

Sarah’s commitment to providing the best for her family and the wider community drives everything she does. Whether she’s in the kitchen developing new recipes or connecting with other families in the tube-feeding community, Sarah is dedicated to making a positive impact, one wholesome meal at a time.

 

 

 

LIAM CONOLLY,  APD , Senior Clinical Nutrition Manage

Meet Liam—a passionate Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and the Senior Clinical Nutrition Manager at Wholesome Blends. Since graduating in 2023, Liam has committed himself to helping individuals reach their health goals through personalised, compassionate care. His background in private practice has taught him that each person’s circumstances are unique, and he believes that tailored, individualised support is key to making a real difference in people’s lives.

Liam is deeply committed to ensuring that everyone has access to high-quality nutrition care, regardless of their background or situation. This drive for inclusivity is what drew him to Wholesome Blends, where he works alongside a team that shares his passion for making real food options accessible to the tube-feeding community. For Liam, empowering individuals with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their nutrition is at the heart of everything he does.

When he’s not at work, Liam finds balance by unwinding at his place on Stradbroke Island, where he enjoys heading out on his boat to fish and sharing the day’s catch with family and friends. His love of sport, especially volleyball, keeps him connected to the community, having both played and coached for nearly a decade. A lifelong supporter of the Brisbane Lions and the North Queensland Cowboys, Liam’s passion for sport reflects his belief in teamwork, dedication, and staying grounded in what matters most.

 

PHILLIP TORRES, Chef 

When you combine incredible culinary skills with the desire to give good nutrition to all, this is where you meet Chef Phillip.

Phillip is the amazing Chef that has helped created the blends you see today. Phillip is not only a qualified chef, but is also almost finished his studies in nutrition science. Sarah and Phillip have worked together for many years on many incredible international events.

Phillip was recently the Head Chef for the Queensland Reds Rugby team, not only providing them with nutritious food options, but educating the team in healthy eating choices.

Phillip also works with aged care, so understands just how difficult its sometimes to get nutrition into many different abilities.

Phillip has a passion to provide honest, nutritious foods for everyone regardless of ability.
